CinemaSound from jwsound.net

dedicated to those who do sound for image

Hi All,

For those who haven't heard. Network 7 decided that 1.2million viewers (on average) at 21:30 on a Tuesday night wasn't enough to keep the show going. Also that 'Baby Boomers' (who mostly watch the show) aren't worth advertising too.

My Mum's in this category. It's funny because she still needs, Food, clothing, insurance, holidays and goes to the bank. Surely you could advertise something? Come on!

It always amazes me how people at the top make decisions while everyone else is left scratching their heads. Sometimes they should be reminded about who pays their 'Mega' wages.

Anyway. We start filming the last Ep next week.

So..... There will be 4 Boomies out there looking for work and 2 Recordists. Sorry guys.

Its was fun while it lasted.

Stu

Welcome back to the Freelance world Stu, I had no work last week, a day and a half the week before and nothing so far for next week! Ouch! Running out of money...

I think we've left this industry in the hands of those people calling themselves producers for way too long.

It's time we put the 'Sound Guys' in-charge. We couldn't stuff it up anymore than they have.

I'm running out of money, I can't afford the operation to have my heart and soul removed to become a Producer...

Its sad to lose such a good employer Stu and it's sad for the viewers as well. My wife has Tivo'd every ep in the last 12 months. It's got a large and loyal following. I presume there was a valid commercial reason for pulling the plug, but it's not readily apparent and it makes you wonder if the All Saint's audience aint viable WTF is?

1.2 ain't enough love eh? Well that's making me feel secure (not!) since the last series of RSPCA was averaging 1.4. Anyway these f#@*&^%@! at CH7 are claiming a 25% loss in advertising revenue overall & squeezing everyone by the balls for the next series, so even for those with work the story isn't great. Betcha there'll be a market saturation of reality cooking shows after the Masterchef thing. So those of you who have been doing drama may wish to gear up for reality stuff & get accustomed to working with young English "Producers". RIP Aussie Drama.

Aussie drama is around, I just got asked to do a four week shoot for a feature film, the only catch was that they were not going to pay for any equipment...and I had to boomswing it myself as well. Choice!
