I have been using the Global Media pro NP1 batts for quite a few years now and they have been fantastic.

Personally I've been using Switronix NP-50 NiMH NP style batteries with a simple single charger on quite a few gigs now with no issues at all. Powering a PSC promix6 and SD-702T for about 4 hours between changes. Each battery goes for about $130.
I need to beef up my battery supply to cope with increased demand from power hungry equip in the kit. I bought Swit batts & charger about 4 years ago rather than staying with IDX; price was the decider.

Great to know there are some new wet weather options on the way.
I currently use the Petrol rain "apron". Works reasonably well. Keeps the kit dry but hard to get your hands in to use the mixer or recorder. Also not great in high wind conditions.…

- I thought this sounded familiar, I know who is doing that job or was talking about doing it. He is a sound buddy of mine. The directors have a vision of doing each shot in one action, no cuts or coverage. I told him to run a mile from it. He said that I'd lost my sense of adventure.
