Personally I've been using Switronix NP-50 NiMH NP style batteries with a simple single charger on quite a few gigs now with no issues at all. Powering a PSC promix6 and SD-702T for about 4 hours between changes. Each battery goes for about $130.
I need to beef up my battery supply to cope with increased demand from power hungry equip in the kit. I bought Swit batts & charger about 4 years ago rather than staying with IDX; price was the decider.
The Oz price of Swits has creeped up (now $28…
Great to know there are some new wet weather options on the way.
I currently use the Petrol rain "apron". Works reasonably well. Keeps the kit dry but hard to get your hands in to use the mixer or recorder. Also not great in high wind conditions.…

I watched it with the missus on a Panasonic HD TV, using the internal speakers. My wife, born OS, had trouble with first 15 to 20 minutes. She said she'd have turned it off if I hadn't been watching too, and was glad she hadnt as she really e…
Hi Chris
I also enjoyed this show. Des Keneally was the location recordist, and I think he is an Oscar winner (or nominee) for "Storm Boy" in the 80's. I met him briefly in Gawler 6 years ago when I inherited "McLeod's Daughter's" from him.

Curious to hear comments on the sound in 3 Acts of Murder. Was on ABC TV last night (Sunday)

Hi Chris,
Hope your well.
Trying to familiarize myself with this website. Is it possible to post a discussion on the Aussie Sound group only, without going world wide?
Cheers

I thought this sounded familiar, I know who is doing that job or was talking about doing it. He is a sound buddy of mine. The directors have a vision of doing each shot in one action, no cuts or coverage. I told him to run a mile from it. He said that I'd lost my sense of adventure. I'm going to see him today at the Syd film fest, I'll ask him if he is still doing the job.
Hey Chris, who were those people you were talking about on the discussion group that were on to their third master work but not paying for gear or wages for six weeks?
Hello Chris, I started a group called 'Aussie Sound' would appreciate if you might join the group and invite any other Aussies you know. Regards Rainier
