It worked... sometimes though you had to take your jumper off & stuff the 816 down a sleeve. Polar fleece hadn't been invented yet either.

Thanks for your comments re my pic - it was 3 am in Kings cross at the very start of my docco career - when I was full of sensitivety & a lust for the true meaning of life.
Note also there is a stocking around the windgag...fluffys hadn't been invented yet.
