Hi Jeff,
Many thanks for the welcome. Because of your fabulous discussion groups and RAMPS, I no longer have time to spend with my family !!!
Once I learn how to navigate around Cinemasound I'll spend even more time online and less with the missus. Another occupational hazard !!
Seriously – I've learnt so much since discovering RAMPS around 10 years ago and am amazed at how similarly we all attend to our craft around the world.
I am now in my 46th year as a sound professional and still have a great love of the craft. Just hope I can still perform for a few more years !!
Cheers,
David Glasser

Hello Jeff, yes I am right now in the Czech Republic, in Prague to be specific. I didn't even realize that film was shot here! I can imagine you didn't get to see much while on shooting, know that feeling... :)

Hiding in Nashville. I have been a lot of things over the years. Still photog, Steadicam owner/op, audio, rental house. I have enjoyed watching your cart build take place using the 8020 product. I am a hands on person, always building or designing something to make my life a little easier.

Activity here at CinemaSound

I do check in with CinemaSound, it is my creation of course, but not as often as I used to. There is not a lot going on here, that's for sure, but I hope that those who are participating are having a good time. It does not look like CinemaSound will ever take over from my regular long running Discussion Group at jwsound.net and that's okay... it was only an experiment, this Ning network, and it is what it is. I have no intention of taking this… Continue

Discussion Group meltdown

I was quite traumatized by the malware attack on my Discussion Group. I realize that I have a high sense of responsibility to keep the whole thing running properly. It is very disconcerting when things happen that are so far out of one's control. Fortunately, with the help of my good friend Laurence Abrams, we were able to diagnose the problem and figure out a course of action. There were so many files infected - affected that the most viable solution was the do a complete restore from a previou… Continue

Our future in "New Media"

I am posting some food for thought on the heels of the ratification of our new I.A. contract. These comments from a very active and concerned member of the Camera Guild:

What I don't fully understand in this corporate paradigm is how PEOPLE get away with immoral, nation-destroying, middle-class-killing policies by hiding behind The Corporation. Well, although it's been said that "corporations have no ethics, they are amoral entities," the fact is that corporations are run by PEOPLE. PEOPLE make… Continue
