Hi Rainier
The producer was Liz Shute and the creatives were Oliver Torr and Matt Zeremes. Couldn't believe that she was trying to get me to commit for absolutely no money ar all - especially as it was the third movie for these guys. No offer of points either.
Guess they have to try
Hi Rainier, thanks for the welcome. Also thanks for taking the time to set this site up as well. It will be a useful way to keep in touch with colleagues and their ideas on the job we all do. Maybe a source too for some good sound jokes with a bit of luck.
I am off to London for a completely undeserved holiday and will get more involved with the group when I return.
Hey Rainier, sorry for slow reply.Things a little crazy at the moment. and going away for a for a few weeks. When I get back I will chuck up the pic.
All well with you?
Hi Rainier,
Bought a Petrol PEGZ 2 bag. IDX NP-1 two-port charger c/w four Lithium Ion NP-1
Picked up a used Cooper CS-104 but might have to grab a SD302 to reduce weight (of the bag - not me!)
Also bought a Manfrotto lighting stand with adjustable boompole hanger that will double as an antenna mount. Rest of the kit as below:
2X UHF DX2040 Radio mike systems c/w for beltpacks and two MiniTX.
Sanken COS-11 lapel heads or Countryman B3. Miscellaneous other lapels I'm still wiring up as alternatives.
Schoeps CMIT 5 U shotgun and Schoeps MK41 hyper-cardioid
Ambient boom pole.
Extras:
1 additional UHF Audio Ltd DX2040 Radio mike with Sanken COS-11 lapel.
2 X UHF Envoy systems as stereo camera link.
HX2040 hand-held mike with Schoeps cardioid MK4 or MK41 capsule (yes, that one!).
Also have that 4 channel RK2040 diversity rack receiver system (but that may have been sold).
Sennheiser MD421 voice-over dynamic.
Don't have any immediate plans for a recorder, will have to wait and see if there is any work around first. Meanwhile, have a PC hard drive recording system and a Stereo IFB system with five receivers.
Hi Rainier,
Guess who has put together a location sound kit and is looking for opportunities to get out of the dungeon I have been manacled to for the last decade?
Decided, after doing 50 weeks of reality TV, I should get outside more and grab my share of the fun you guys constantly enjoy ;-)
Now I’ve spent my money, it seems the local market is rapidly shrinking. I’ve always had perfect timing! Maybe see you at a soup kitchen some time?
got a 2 day Coke TVC at the end of the week with Guntis, and if something more substantial comes up I'll probably get a call - but he deosn't seem to get as much of a shot at the long form stuff up here, as there's a well established network of high profile soundos already.
Glad to hear that you've got a bit of work - even if it is a lowly paid short - at least it's scripted - and paid.
Say hi to Aron for me - glad he's getting a little work in the big city.
speaking of equipment - I purchased a CMC6-Mk41 combo in January as a late christmas pressie for myself, and am VERY happy.
Michael and I got married in Feb too! Family time and sound recording ect are all we've got time for. Michael has a van packed to the gills with goodies, including 4 Lectros, 2 Schoeps (the blue ones), 416, Sonosax Mixer, Cart from Rob Stadler, running boom recorder onto a laptop. There is still plenty of other goodies we need, but that will come in time. Our studio is days away from completion, and we've got a contract for Foley for a TV Series for the next few months.
hey wolfcastle - early 08 was wolverine, then a bit of a break skiing holiday etc. Booming some 2nd unit on east of everything; and rounded out the year with a film up in Broome/perth in November/December.
things have been slow - so I've been studying massage therapy and am graduating this week.
Heya Bud, hows you doing? What have you been working on? I'm mostly a mum at the moment, doing post sound from home. We're about to move to our new Studio in the next week or so. My hubby does location sound tho. We should catch up next time we're in Sydney.

I understand everyone's circumstances are different - but I don't really understand how someone can afford to work for 6 weeks and not be paid
Here's Margaret & David's review of it http://www.abc.net.au/atthemovies/txt/s1888295.htm
